Fair use rationale for Image:Widener Law Seal in 2007.jpg
[edit]Image:Widener Law Seal in 2007.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Joe Biden
[edit]I put in a small bit about Joe Biden's teaching career at Widener under notable former faculty. It was a fairly big deal for a pretty no-name school, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Jpenven (talk) 05:56, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I think that those who know and love the school would object to Jpenven's characterization of it as a "pretty no-name school." Matt2h (talk) 02:40, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
"No name school" wasn't necessarily meant as an insult, but it is in actuality a Tier 4 school and its not exactly a well known law school outside of the area (as any student/recent graduate from there would attest to). Having, at that time, the Vice-President Elect, as a adjunct professor was a big deal. As I imagine it would have been for any law school, but especially for a school such as Widener. And trust me...I know the school all too well. I gotta a couple of diplomas and certifications hanging on my wall from there. Just to clear up..."no name: meant not an immediately recognizable school, not one that was of a particularly lower quality. Jpenven (talk) 09:06, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Possible Language Bias
[edit]I'm concerned there is a lot of language in the article that appears overtly positive. "Strategically" located rather than simply "Widener is located..." Further, the rankings section notes that it is considered "Tier 2" by U.S. News but the link says no such thing (all that can be gathered from the link is that it is lower that #145, so if it is indeed Tier 2 then there are only tiers... I'd like other thoughts before I try to change anything, thanks! --Pusillanimous (talk•contribs) 19:41, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Neutrality?
[edit]"Strategically located in Wilmington, the corporate capital of the world..." Although this statement does have a citation, it still seems ... incorrect and slanted. Any thoughts? Piboy51 (talk) 15:41, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Split
[edit]Widener University School of Law split into two separate law schools, the Delaware Law School (delawarelaw.widener.edu) and Widener Law Commonwealth (commonwealthlaw.widener.edu) as of July 1, 2015. Though both law schools remain a part of Widener University, there is no longer a Widener University School of Law except as the historical entity that existed before the campuses split into separate law schools. - Agree this should be split into two separate pages as the schools are now considered two separate law schools within the Widener University System. Should appear in the same fashion as Pennsylvania State University's two law schools Penn State Law and Pennsylvania State University - Dickinson Law. --Flyguy33 (talk) 19:13, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
Agreed, this should be split into two. The two law schools are operating as separate institutions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.245.192.49 (talk) 16:17, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
